My Tundra is a 2017 Limited. At 5000 I brought my Tundra to the dealer for its offset oil modify. This goes against my better sentence but the allure of FREE brought me in.
This time at 10,000 I was stocked and fully prepared to do it myself.
The MOTIVX filter tool and bleed tool made this an absolute cakewalk! I literally did not spill any oil. You tin practise a search to detect these tools.

The skid plate is not a big deal at all. It's literally v minutes off and five minutes on. Although I think I volition be purchasing the RCI sideslip because of the admission port to the filter housing. Not having to drop the skid would make this task and then damn easy.

The total container is higher than what Mobil fills them so you can encounter it was to much. It calls for vii.9 with filter but 7.5 was perfect and right near half style between marks. I check my oil regularly and afterward leaving the dealer it was to a higher place the meridian dot merely I let it ride since information technology wasn't terrible.
They besides tightened EVERYTHING from skid bolts to filter housing Way to tight. I torqued everything to spec.
Specs I found were
22 ft lbs on drain commodities
18 ft lbs on filter housing
9 ft lbs on filter cap.

Anyone on the fence I will confirm this was an easy job that took ane.5 hours beginning to end and that is with my anal donkey cleaning everything and double checking everything. It'southward also confirmed to me that the quick lube bone heads could care less near how an oil change is washed in my truck.

I'm surprised they changed the oil at 5000 miles. I took mine in for its first oil change at 5000. They gave me the impression that they were going to alter it, as well equally grease my driveshaft and rotate my tires. When I got it back and looked at the dipstick it was even so old oil. I checked the zurk fittings, the pigment wasn't even scraped off. You lot tin can't grease them without doing so outset. Although in the paperwork said they greased it.
I questioned them and they told me 10k was the interval. I knew that merely I still wanted it at 5K. I have not been back for service since. I went domicile and did it myself. It's block! On the skid take the front three screws off, the. The two front end bolts and then the back 2 outsides and finally the eye. Shift the skid towards the drive side and it come right off. Opposite when going on.

I'm due for an oil alter, tire rotation soon. I programme to do information technology myself even though I said I wouldn't exercise it myself again cuz information technology's kind of a hurting in the ass. I as well am nearing 30k so I demand to alter my diff oils soon too. I'll do that myself too.
Oh and I demand to change my brake fluid. Never needed to practice this earlier. I may pay for that or buy some kind of tool to go far a i human job

Not sure what Toyota recommends but I have never inverse the Brake fluid in whatsoever vehicle that I have owned, nor do I know anyone that has.

Toyota says 24-36k miles a full brake fluid alter in 3rd gen tundra. Maybe I tin wait longer since I don't tow simply figured I'd beginning looking into it
